Open Shop Floor Bin Code

 

 

The Open Shop Floor Bin Code is defined in the Location Card, Bins tab and it  is activated when location is defined as WMS Location (Directed Put-away and Picking enabled). 

 

It is use to integrate WMS and Manufacturing when automatic flushing (backward or forward) is also defined. In this situation, the component quantity being automatically posted as consumed would need to be stored in the bin number provided as the Open Shop Floor Bin in order for the automatic flushing of inventory components to occur. In other words, the Open Shop Floor Bin is used for flushing.

 

Keep in mind, you must have the items that will be flushed set up on the item card for pick+forward or pick+backward in order for this to work as well as you must also have sufficient stock of those items in the open shop floor bin. Then, using the normal logic for when items are flushed, the system will consume items out of that bin.
